Halloween preparations.

We have had a fun afternoon of Halloween preparations today.

We did not grow pumpkins in the kitchen garden this summer, so we have bought a small pumpkin at the grocery store to make a lantern.
The lantern was made today, my daughter drew the face and I did the cutting.
It turned out nice, looking like a kind and smiling lantern :)

As darkness fell we lit a candle inside the lantern and went outside too see.

The pumpkin was filled with seeds, so we decided to make roasted pumkin seeds.
The seeds were cleansed, washed, and then mixed with a little butter, salt, black pepper and garlic and roasted in the oven untill golden.
It was the first time we made this, and it was actually quite good.

My daughter made ghost meringues, which were cute as well as delicious. We are saving them for tomorrow, but of course had to taste a few.

We also looked through the costumes.
So now we are almost ready for tomorrow evening.

Small ghosts meringues are lovely.

And the pumpkin in the darkness looks very scary.

Happy Halloween!
